FATHOM Water Management, Inc. (“FATHOM™”) announced today they have contractedwith the City of Melissa, Texas (“City”) to provide the City with their FATHOM Customer Information System (“CIS”) and Meter Data Management (“MDM”) Solutions as well as the procurement and installation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (“AMI”). This bundled system includes utility billing and revenue management services, customer care services, and the FATHOM Utility‐to‐You™ (“U2You”) customer portal.
“To maximize the value of the investment in an AMI system, water utilities need to have a system in place that translates the data collected into meaningful knowledge and actionable information. By combining our proven FATHOM CIS and FATHOM MDM Solutions with the new Fixed Network AMI system, the City will be able to use that knowledge to increase revenue, decrease costs and empower their customers,” stated Mr. Trevor Hill, Chief Executive Officer of FATHOM. “With FATHOM, not only will utilities be able to better manage their current resources, they will also be more drought‐ready and prepared to both conserve more water for their community and still preserve their revenue stream if stricter water use mandates are implemented in the future.” FATHOM is a turn‐key, cloud‐based, full‐service solution that eliminates the need for multiple, single‐purpose software programs to integrate, maintain and support. The FATHOM U2You™ customer care portal empowers residents with powerful communication tools and advanced analytics that enable them to access, manage, control and pay for their water usage.
“Melissa has a great 150‐year heritage and we are proud to embrace our small town charm and sensibilities. At the same time, we also must provide our residents with the technology they both need and expect. With FATHOM, we have positioned ourselves to achieve both,” said Erin Mynatt, Assistant to the City Manager, Melissa, Texas. “This is particularly important as we continue to be mindful of the need for water conservation and our desire to engage our residents and give them more tools to make informed decisions on their water usage. With the FATHOM
Solution Suite, we will have the systems and tools in place to efficiently manage costs, serve our residents and confidently manage our communities’ long‐term growth and sustainability.” The 15‐year contract supports the City’s approximately 2,500 customers and offers the City an opportunity to provide high‐touch customer care with a superior level of automated services. Mr. Hill said, “Water utilities, no matter what the size, should be able to benefit from the power of technology and data,so we are very excited about our partnership with the City of Melissa. Bringing standardization and economies of scale to water utilities makes the entire industry stronger and more sustainable.”
