PHOENIX – November 22, 2010 – Global Water Resources, Inc. (“Global Water”) announced today that its technology-enabled operating platform, FATHOM™, was awarded the 2010 Arizona Governor’s Green Innovator of the Year Award at the Governor’s Celebration of Innovation event held November 18, 2010. Over 100 nominees were evaluated through a rigorous process of both written and oral interviews. Judges were selected by the Arizona Technology Council to represent technology, business and educational sectors across the state.
Global Water’s FATHOM was recognized as a significant technological advancement for the water sector that helps municipalities save money, time and water. FATHOM’s utility-to-utility service providing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (“AMI”), Customer Information System (“CIS”) and Asset Management solutions is a fully financed, turn-key technology bundle that offers immediate assistance for municipalities struggling with budget constraints and water scarcity management.
“Water scarcity is a growing issue for municipalities that already affects the southwest United States. This recognition from Arizona demonstrates the impact that our FATHOM platform can have on regions where water scarcity and budget pressures exist. We have seen phenomenal growth in this business and it is very rewarding to us that our products and services are helping to maintain sustainable communities while easing the budget constraints faced by municipalities in Arizona and across the United States,” said Trevor Hill, President and CEO, Global Water.
Municipalities in all regions of the United States face budget constraints. Many also face growing water scarcity issues. FATHOM is a state-of-the-art back-office for water utility optimization. Its proven ability to enhance customer service while driving costs out of utility operations has made FATHOM particularly attractive in today’s economy. FATHOM reduces costs in many routine utility operations including reading meters, billing, receivables management and customer service. Cities now can access state-of-the-art systems for performing these functions without the requirement to own the sophisticated IT resources required to operate them.
